John Frusciante – Central (The Empyrean) [track #8] with lyrics

Central by John Frusciante from his latest album, The Empyrean. lyrics: Im central to nowhere Thinking of sweeping it clean When we choose to go were losing more than just our surroundings Ive gone around the sides of this universe as it stands Outside the limits of all existence Where light never ends We should be grateful to the gods Whoever theyre real to they are I value my placement as in Hell Remember that moment that I fell, hey hey hey. Anything that could one day be is as real as what Im saying If something is nothing, it must not be something in any possible way Lo-lo-lo-lose yourself in the far off worlds that are right under your feet Switch below with above all the way up into infinity We should be thankful who we are Whether we know ourselves or not Walking alongside myself Neither of us listens very well Im dreading a time that is not near As a man on cross I have no fear I cant believe these words Im saying You gotta feel your lines You gotta feel your lines (repeat…) Im dreading a time that is not near As a man on cross I do not fear I cant believe these words Im saying You gotta feel your lines You gotta feel your lines

  8. Oh I’ve been so sad when I heard he left the peppers (as a bass player, I just HAVE to love the peppers, and as a musician I just HAVE to love Frusciante..) but whenever I listen to these songs… Together with the fact that John himself is happier this way (so he says, and I really hope he is), these songs are a great compromise, and it’s alright =) I love it!

  16. @Nardeko Unfortunately the largest common denominator also tends to be the lowest common denominator.

  18. @Slang4Art there are many different walks of life, and the fact that they’re here means that they work and that gives them some credibility towards being “right”. i guess music is the same way, although i personally hate the radio. sorry for going all high and mighty on you it was just a thought that came to me and i had to get out.

  19. @Slang4Art and i guess the point of that was to say you can take a stand on allowing people to have free will and not put your viewpoints on them. i’m doing that now haha and that brings me to my next point which is as soon as you take a stand you become a hypocrite.

  20. i hope he doesn’t end up being an antichrist. His music is so good its insane. His lyrics are getting more and more spiritual album after album. All this amazing work he is doing is bringing some people to think of him as jesus. please don’t let that happen, i love his music, lets all respect him for his music, but he is not jesus.

  21. you cant call this man jesus or god, without those two guys, half of john’s lyrics would be nowhere near as good. john is amazing, but he is still just a human.

  22. @Nardeko If you consider promptly switching the radio station emotion, then yes, listening to Green Day is a very emotional experience.

  24. @geoff1121 You understand that the lyrics of this song are almost definitely about how he does not believe in God, right?

    chrislarson15 5 January 2011 at 4:09 am Permalink
  25. @chrislarson15 You understand this album “takes place in one persons mind throughout his life. The only other character is someone who does not live in the physical world but is inside it” – jf.
He often refers to hearing sounds of spirit which drives him to write songs, his interviews suggests that he believes in a higher being. This song does not represent his current mindset, listen to the whole album.
